ProWest News – Arrogance and self-interest underpin DBCA’s broken marine park commitments
Despite apologising to WAFIC and other stakeholders for its unacceptable behaviours during the Buccaneer marine park consultation process, the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) has simply pulled the old playbook out and is trying to run another corrupted process for the South Coast Marine Park.
WAFIC has now pushed back and DBCA has followed through with dozens of other broken commitments, in what has become a shameful display of arrogance and self-serving.
The agency appears to be driving its own agenda, as the Environment Minister would surely be aware that the new Premier has issued warnings to his Ministers about the risks and ramifications facing arrogant governments and arrogant decision making.
