From 1 July 2026, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) will apply annual indexation increases to its National System (domestic commercial vessel) fees for service.
The increase in fees is calculated by applying the current year’s indexation factor, which is 4.6 per cent.
Affected fees are associated with applications for:
- certificate of competency – near coastal
- certificate of survey
- certificate of operation
- AMSA Marine Surveyor accreditation scheme
- unique vessel identifier
- National Law Exemptions including Exemption 2, Exemption 6, Exemption 7 and Exemption 40.
The increases will see the fee for a new certificate of operation increase from $239 to $249.
