As part of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority’s (AMSA) ongoing review of the survey framework, AMSA called for industry feedback on proposed changes to MO503 (Certificates of survey – national law) 2018. Comments closed on 20 April 2026.
AMSA received 31 submissions from stakeholders across the DCV sector, including recognised organisations (ROs), accredited marine surveyors (AMSs), vessel owners and operators, seafarers, industry peak bodies and government agencies.
WAFIC and Seafood Industry Australia (SIA) coordinated industry feedback and made submissions. AMSA undertook post-submission consultation with WAFIC and SIA to discuss these submissions in further detail.
AMSA has now released its ‘MO 503 Consultation Feedback Report’, which sets out each proposed change by AMSA, as well as feedback received through consultation. Importantly, the report includes AMSA’s response to the feedback.
