Dates set for Fremantle Boat and Seafood Festival

After two COVID-related false starts, this promising event is now set to be held on The Esplanade from 10-12 March 2023 and is expected to attract more than 15,000 people over the weekend.

The event will be a focal point for WA’s premium seafood and local craft beers and will include an on-water recreational boat show alongside.

Show Director, Peter Woods said combining the world-class Seafood Festival with an on-water boat show was an ideal combination.

“We are extremely excited to be bringing back the popular Fremantle Seafood Festival, an event which ran for several years but hasn’t been held since 2016.”

“The Fremantle Seafood Festival celebrates the abundance of seafood and the history of the industry that the Fremantle Port city is famous for.”

“Western Australia has the best seafood in the world, so we will be working with organisations such as WAFIC and the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (Fisheries), along with other seafood stakeholders such as Western Rock Lobster, Cone Bay Barramundi, Fremantle Octopus, Fremantle Sardines and Shark Bay Prawns to bring their best produce to the public at the Fremantle Seafood Festival,” Peter said.

The event will have a strong focus on fresh organic local produce as well as promoting the State’s premium wines, craft beers and boutique beverages.

The seafood stage will feature attractions and entertainment for the whole family including wine and food tastings, seafood cooking demonstrations on stage, celebrity chefs and plenty of recipes and cooking tips to share.

The Fremantle Boat and Seafood Festival is sponsored by the City of Fremantle with support from WAFIC, Western Rock Lobster, and Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.
