Delivering quality seafood and good customer service reaps rewards

The growth, innovation and excellence of the Seafresh Group was recognised when the company was presented the Seafood Business (Large) Award at the 2021 Western Australian Seafood Industry Awards.
The award category is sponsored by Baker Refrigeration.

The Awards event, recognising excellence in the WA seafood industry, was held at The Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle and opened by Minister for Fisheries Hon Don Punch MLA in front of a large audience of industry participants and seafood representatives.

WA Fishing Industry Council CEO, Darryl Hockey said the Seafresh Group, as a seafood business employing the equivalent of ten or more full time staff had contributed substantially towards a positive public profile for the seafood industry and helped define good customer service.

Peter and Louis Lynch established the Seafresh Group in 1989 when they acquired existing businesses, Seafresh Claremont and Seafresh Innaloo. They continued to grow and develop the Seafresh group with the opening of Seafresh Myaree in 2012. 2020 and the effects of COVID-19 restrictions have been difficult for many small businesses, however with loyal staff and a commitment to consistently meet customer’s expectations on product quality, the Seafresh Group have continued to achieve sustained growth whilst also improving the public profile of the seafood industry.

“A strong desire to meet customer expectations and improve the business strategy in alignment with the changing food service industry has stood the Seafresh Group in good stead to ensure the company continues to achieve sustained growth and increased its turnover year after year. But it has also grown its customer base by providing products and service that consistently meets or exceeds expectation for quality and variety,” Mr Hockey said.

“As an industry body, we recognise the importance of acknowledging those individuals and organisations who make a substantial contribution to benefiting our industry, and the Seafresh Group are certainly a worthy recipient of this award,” Mr Hockey concluded.
