With Christmas just a week away, there’s still time to add something new to your festive menu. A video featuring chefs Don Hancey and Quinn Swift, alongside Professor Alexandra McManus, serves up simple, healthy and delicious Australian seafood recipes to inspire your celebrations.
Produced by the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) in collaboration with WAFIC, the video is part of the Seafood Nutrition Toolkit. It offers practical ideas for cooking seafood at home and introduces some lesser-known species that could become festive favourites.
Whether you’re hosting Christmas lunch, taking a dish to a family gathering or planning a relaxed meal over the holidays, the recipes show how easy it can be to make Australian seafood part of the occasion.
Alongside the recipe ideas, the video shares four key messages from the toolkit:
- Enjoy two serves of seafood each week as part of a healthy diet.
- Make one of those serves high in omega-3 fatty acids.
- Eat a variety of seafood for the best health benefits.
- Seafood supports wellbeing at every stage of life.
This Christmas, explore the variety of Australian seafood available and try a new recipe to share with family and friends.
