Help your fellow industry members learn from your safety experiences
Earlier this year the Fisheries Research & Development Corporation (FRDC) announced the establishment of a national program, FishSafe, to co-ordinate safety management R&D and extension materials. WA’s own Tanya Adams is heading up the program.
WAFIC is an active participant in the program and is using its extensive communications network to assist FishSafe to provide information to, and seek input from your industry.
FishSafe is commencing an experimental approach to better understand how the fishing industry approaches safety on board their vessels.
You are encouraged to tell your story about a specific safety matter that you experienced and answer some questions about that experience from your perspective. This is all anonymous.
This story collection is not asking for your opinions, but designed to capture emotions and unfiltered experiences from that story. The collation of these stories, key areas, behaviours and practices will assist FishSafe to better shape their work program around marine and workplace safety to be more acceptable and applicable to the fishing and aquaculture in Australia and help drive a more proactive and safety-aware culture.
FishSafe is very keen to get as many survey responses as possible and therefore encourage industry members to participate. It takes about 10 minutes to complete this survey.

The survey can also be taken on a mobile device. To do this:
- Go to Apple App Store or Google Play Store for Android.
- Download and Open the SenseMaker ®App
