ProWest News – DBCA misleads its Director General
Judging by the tips, leads and information we receive each week, I can see that commercial fishers are not the only West Australians that are annoyed at the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA), and its commitment to a corrupted consultation process.
We now have copies of DBCA Briefing Notes, directed to the incoming Director General, which have misrepresented the facts and have a very ‘interesting’ interpretation of events.
We also have copies of notes that confirm WAFIC was excluded from key meetings, and others that show Community Reference Committees were shut down before WAFIC could participate.
There’s a particularly interesting one from a very senior WA Government Minister that would prefer not to get dragged into this, that we are saving until the maps are released. So watch this space.
