Service and variety prove a winner for Ocean and Paddock

The growth, innovation and excellence of Ocean and Paddock in Albany was recognised when they were presented the Seafood Business (Small) Award at the 2021 Western Australian Seafood Industry Awards.

The award category is sponsored by Francis A Jones.

The Awards event, recognising excellence in the WA seafood industry, was held at The Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle and opened by Minister for Fisheries Hon Don Punch MLA in front of a large audience of industry participants and seafood representatives.

WA Fishing Industry Council (WAFIC) CEO, Darryl Hockey said Ocean and Paddock, as a seafood business employing less than the equivalent of ten full time staff, had taken customer service to a new level.

“A visit to this shop is a seafood experience with information on the different types of WA seafood available along with ratings for sustainability. The enthusiastic and informed staff and a commitment to local seafood are contributing substantially towards a positive public profile for the WA seafood industry,” Mr Hockey said.

Ocean and Paddock is a gourmet take away seafood shop based in Albany, re-inventing the concept of the humble Aussie Fish and Chip shop. With a strong commitment to sustainability and to serve only Australian seafood, this business has continued to achieve sustained growth over their five and a half years of operation. Rebecca and Trenton Brennan are dedicated to providing their customers with a quality seafood dining experience and continually improve their product, service delivery and marketing to achieve this.

“As an industry body, we recognise the importance of acknowledging those individuals and organisations who make a substantial contribution to benefiting our industry. Ocean and Paddock are certainly a worthy recipient of this award,” Mr Hockey concluded.
