Shirree Blazeski steps in for Matt Pember
Shirree will be stepping into Matt Pember’s Senior Resource Access Officer role for the next six months while he is on an extended break, taking the reins of his portfolio — including marine park matters and a range of South Coast and broader WA fisheries that are very familiar to her. Shirree Blazeski joins us from DPIRD, bringing over 20 years of experience in fisheries and government, including recently leading the management team for WA’s nearshore, estuarine, and inland resources. She holds a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Marine Biology and Sustainable Coastal Management.
She’s spent plenty of time on boats with industry over the years and is always up for the next trip — but fair warning, she’s a chatty one! A lifelong ocean lover, (Shir)“Ree” feels most at home on, in, or near the water and is ready to champion the interests of WA commercial fishers and help shape the future of the industry.
