Small seafood business packs a mighty punch
The growth, innovation and excellence of The Fisho was recognised when the company was presented the Seafood Business (Small) Award, sponsored by Francis A Jones, at the 2024 Western Australian Seafood Industry Awards.
The Awards event, recognising excellence in the WA seafood industry, was held at The Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle and opened by Minister for Fisheries Hon Don Punch MLA in front of a large audience of industry participants and seafood representatives.
The Fisho, a small family-owned seafood business, embodies the essence of excellence in the WA seafood industry.

WA Fishing Industry Council (WAFIC) CEO, Darryl Hockey said The Fisho, as a seafood business employing less than the equivalent of ten full time staff, had taken customer service to a new level.
“The Fisho’s enthusiastic and informed staff along with a commitment to local seafood are contributing substantially towards a positive public profile for the WA seafood industry,” Mr Hockey said.
“As an industry body, we recognise the importance of acknowledging those individuals and organisations who make a substantial contribution to benefiting our industry. The Fisho are certainly a worthy recipient of this award,” Mr Hockey concluded.

Presented to a seafood business employing less than the equivalent of ten full time staff involved in any segment of the supply chain that has demonstrated business growth; innovation; excellence in product, service and marketing; and has contributed substantially towards a positive public profile for the seafood industry.
