Young achiever is hooked on WA seafood industry
Manue Daniels was recognised for her seafood industry passion when she was presented the Young Achievers Award at the 2021 Western Australian Seafood Industry Awards.

The Awards event, recognising excellence in the WA seafood industry, was held at The Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle and opened by Minister for Fisheries Hon Don Punch MLA in front of a large audience of industry participants and seafood representatives.
WA Fishing Industry Council (WAFIC) CEO, Darryl Hockey said Ms Daniels had overwhelmingly demonstrated her ability to make a positive difference within the seafood industry and has the potential to continue to develop as an effective and respected seafood industry leader.
Manue Daniels is the owner and operations manager of a deep-sea fishing business in Esperance. Manue has a fierce determination to get involved and it’s said enthusiasm is a hallmark of her personality.
Having immigrated from France at a young age, Manue has adopted WA and the seafood industry as her heart and soul.
Demonstrating leadership is important to Manue. Whilst managing her fishing operation, Manue has also been Vice Chairman of the Southern Seafood Producer Association for three years, as well as Vice President of the Esperance Professional Fisherman Association for five years representing the association’s interests with Government and community stakeholders. She has also taken an active role in helping to educate her local community on fishing and sustainability practices, whilst also taking time to engage in personal professional development courses through Women’s Industry Network Seafood Community group.
“As an industry body, we recognise the importance of acknowledging those individuals and organisations who make a substantial contribution to benefiting our industry, and Ms Daniels is certainly incredibly worthy of this award,” Mr Hockey concluded.
Morgan Hand, Operating Manager of Oceanic Trading, a successful fishing and seafood processing operation, was also recognised by the Award Judges as a Highly Commended applicant.
