Veronica Papacosta to depart SIA
After eight years with Seafood Industry Australia (SIA), including her time as Chair and Chief Executive Officer, Veronica Papacosta has advised the SIA Board of her decision to step down as CEO in January 2026.
Veronica’s tenure with SIA saw her steer the organisation through the challenges of COVID, China trade issues, the launch of Stay Afloat and the introduction of Country of Origin Labelling for the hospitality sector.
Veronica has accepted an appointment as the next Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Fresh Produce Alliance (AFPA), where she will continue her leadership within Australia’s food sector.
The SIA Board has commenced a recruitment process to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer and will keep members informed as this progresses.
